Harry Potter v Lord of the Rings

Harry Potter and LOTR ACTUALLY SHARE THE SAME PLOT, CHARACTERS and themes

See which book, out of LOTR and Harry Potter you think that the following sentence sums up:

"There is a small main character that is living with his uncle at the start of the book. He then leaves his uncle and gets some other small friends. They then with the help of a great sand powerful wizard go to defeat a dark lord who g has raised again with new followers. They also have other friends that help them along the way. There is a group which is set especially for the tasks of overthrowing the dark lord."

THIS could sum up either LOTR or Harry potter. Both Harry and Frodo are adopted by there uncle, Bilbo and harries parents, respectively, and then go away. THEY have a small group of friend that help them along the way. You even have the fact that they are both really children, Harry is a child and Frodo is a hobbit and in his ~teenage" YEARS AT THE START OF THE BOOK. Gandalf and Dumbledore both seem to be x very similar looking over things from a distance and stepping in when they see fit to help or advice. Both Sauron and Voldermort are dark lords that are filling -g people to try and become in charge of their worlds. They both have also "risen from the dead" as voldermort was nearly killed by Harry and Sauron has risen from an even more evil and dark lord -d called Melkor.

There are other more subtle differences between the two. The 9 black riders are almost identical to the guards to azcedan. IF you look at the films you can see this more clearly, they seem to be the same character.

Also there is a dark and bad wood in both. There is the wood outside Hogwarts in Harry potter and the Mirkwood in LOTR. Both of these are associated with evil and the characters try to avoid going there if they can.

There are also prophecies in both. Sam sees what the shire will be like and Harry f gets a prophase from the teacher in HOGWARTS In both they are tiring to get rid of an object that will help t -he dark lord achieve his aims, in HP and The Pholophicers stone they are trying to get rid of the stone and throughout the whole of LOTR they are trying to get rid of the rings.

It seems however that as HP Has becomes more successful the author has written more books that don’t follow the plot as closely and have started move away from the plot of LOTR. It also seems that HP doesn’t go to much detail about the background -und of the characters and therefore doest seem to be that closely following LOTR. The characters seem to be the most obvious clue as well as the basic outline if the plot that i gave at the star -t
